Gynecomastia surgery in Switzerland - Correcting breast excess in men
Gynecomastia is excessive development of the mammary gland in men. It can affect one or both breasts, and can affect both teenagers and adults. This condition, which is often psychologically unpleasant, can lead to a real aesthetic complex and affect self-confidence.
Gynecomastia surgery offers a reliable, long-lasting solution for restoring a flat, masculine torso.
Specialized consultation and medical check-up
At the first consultation, Dr. Mehdi-Sébastien BECK :
- Evaluate the nature of gynecomastia (glandular, fatty or mixed),
- Explains possible surgical options,
- Prescribe, if necessary, a hormonal check-up by an endocrinologist to rule out an underlying medical cause.
You will be given a full explanation of the procedure, as well as a personalized quote based on the type of correction envisaged.
Procedure
Gynecomastia surgery is performed under general anesthesia, in most cases on an outpatient basis (same-day discharge), or with a short hospital stay (1 night).
It involves removing excess mammary gland, fatty tissue, or both, using a technique adapted to each individual morphology. In most cases, liposuction is combined with targeted surgical excision.
A compression vest is put in place at the end of the operation and must be worn day and night for around 4 weeks to limit edema and promote good skin retraction.
Post-operative follow-up and recovery
Regular follow-up is provided at the office:
- An initial check-up takes place within 48 hours of surgery,
- Weekly appointments are then scheduled for post-operative care and LED therapy (healing stimulation).
Bruising and swelling are normal during the first few weeks.
Dr. Mehdi-Sébastien BECK will support you in managing the scar with specific treatments: massage, laser, or injections as required.
