Cryolipolysis in Switzerland - Targeted cold fat reduction without surgery

Cryolipolysis is a non-invasive medical technique that uses cold to permanently destroy localized fat cells. It treats fatty deposits that are resistant to diet and physical activity, without anesthesia, incision or social eviction.

How does cryolipolysis work?

This process works in two stages:

  1. Controlled cooling: fat cells are exposed to a temperature of between -3°C and -10°C, causing them to crystallize (apoptosis).
  2. Progressive elimination: the destroyed cells are then eliminated naturally by the body, via the lymphatic system.

The elimination process lasts several weeks after the session, with gradual, lasting results.

Who is it for?

Cryolipolysis is intended for :

  • Women and men wishing to reduce localized fat (stomach, love handles, hips, back, arms, thighs, knees…),
  • For those with a generally stable figure, but with persistent areas of fat,
  • Patients who are in the process of rebalancing their diet or resuming physical activity, to boost motivation.

This is not a weight-loss method, but a targeted treatment for localized fat.

Session sequence

  • The area to be treated is identified and protected.
  • A vacuum applicator is positioned, aspirating the fat fold and cooling it for 45 to 70 minutes.
  • No anesthesia is required.
  • After treatment, the area is massaged to boost circulation and improve effectiveness.

Expected results

  • Average reduction of 25-30% in localized fat from the very first session,
  • Visible results from 3 to 6 weeks, with continuous improvement for up to 3 months,
  • Several sessions can be carried out, spaced at least 4 weeks apart.

Recommendations before and after the session

Before the session :

  • Avoid anti-inflammatories and anticoagulants (aspirin, ibuprofen…) 7 to 10 days beforehand,
  • No sun or UV exposure in the previous 5 days,
  • Arnica treatment to prevent bruising (optional).

After the session :

    • Avoid heat sources (hot baths, saunas, steam rooms) for 24 hours,
    • Do not expose the treated area to the sun for as long as bruising remains,
    • Massage the area daily for 2 to 3 months,
    • Benign side effects (edema, redness, bruising) can be treated with Arnica or specific creams.

Contraindications

Cryolipolysis should not be performed on :

  • Pregnant or breast-feeding women,
  • People with severe circulatory disorders, hernias or active skin wounds,
  • In case of Raynaud’s syndrome, or a history of pathological cold.

A preliminary medical check-up is always carried out to ensure that the treatment is suited to your profile.

What you need to know

  • Results may vary from one individual to another,
  • Around 10% of patients may have an inadequate response to treatment,
  • In the event of weight gain after the session, the fat does not return to the treated area, but may settle elsewhere.
