Types of peelings

Session sequence
- Cleansing and make-up removal,
- Application of a pre-peel (glycolic acid-based solution),
- Application of the chosen chemical peel (gel, solution or paste),
- Neutralize or rinse depending on the type of peel,
- Application of a soothing cream,
- Optional: LED therapy session to promote skin repair.

Post-peeling precautions
- Avoid sun exposure for at least 4 weeks,
- Use daily SPF 50 sun protection,

Recommended protocols
- Superficial peel: 3 sessions spaced 3 weeks apart, then 1 to 2 maintenance sessions/year.
- 15% to 18% TCA peel: 2 to 3 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart.
- TCA 30%: 1 session is usually enough, to be repeated every 3 to 4 years.
- Depigmenting peel: 2 initial sessions + annual maintenance.
Specific creams containing hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and depigmenting agents are recommended between sessions.
Contraindications
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding,
- Active herpes, inflammatory acne,
- Very dark phototypes (5 and 6) for TCA peels,
- Recent treatment with Roaccutane® (6 months off required),
- Recent sun exposure or tanned skin.
